Just when you thought you could only encounter peril during hikes in Colorado... My Mom took this picture while we were walking through the Wynn hotel and casino in Las Vegas. (Notice the purple flower-covered orb hanging perilously above my head!) Good thing Mom was there to capture this moment, such that we could bring it to you and raise awareness about the perils of Las Vegas. Travel safely, friends.
I shared in a recent post a peril picture from our hike on the Eldorado Canyon Trail. You might ask yourself, what is a "peril picture"? Well, it all started on a trip my Mom and I took to Aspen several years ago...
We'd taken the gondola to the top of Aspen mountain and saw a crazy, young couple taking pictures off of a stone deck area. The gal would hop over the edge and appear to hang off it, even though she was standing on a ledge just a few feet below. Mom and I thought that was one of the funniest things we'd ever seen...and so began the "peril picture" series. My parents take peril pictures on their trips, as do my husband and I. It's made for quite a collection. Here are a few samples:
